Val Curry grew up in the cornfields of rural Illinois. Arriving in Texas in 1992, he studied under Plush Gallery director, Randall Garrett, while attending Richland Community College before attending TAMU-Commerce. Val was recently accepted into the Arts and Technology MFA program at UT Dallas and the Central Trak residency. His work is crafted from the staples of our modern world that were once cherished. Now forgotten and given a new life – used children’s toys and obsolete computers fused with roots and branches become metaphors for play, communication, structure and foundation.
